What is the best age for a tongue tie release?
Every baby is a little different. Generally speaking, 2-4 weeks is the best time. This gives parents some time to work with the baby on issues prior to the release. Typically, the older the baby is the more work needs to be done. Up to 18 months are considered for a release. Ages 18 months to 4 are tricky ages.
What is the process to get signed up?
For a lactation visit call or text our phone at 435-703-6600. If you have questions about Tongue Tie, get scheduled and we can assess this during your visit.
Our preferred provider is Dr. Tara Erson at Smart Mouth in Las Vegas. She comes to St. George once a month to do releases and follow up visits.
You can call or text her office.
You can also find a list of preferred providers online in a Facebook Group. The name of the group is: Utah Tongue & Lip Tie Support Group. You can join and then search for the most recent list of vetted providers.

What is Per Fact?
Per Fact is a trademarked protocol developed by Dr. Darick Nordstom. It is a technique using radial shockwave therapeutically to help the body and brain generate healing chemicals. Per Fact also releases fascial strain and decreases negative feedback from the tissues. It is a very healing, calming treatment for the body and mind.
What does Per Fact help?
Per Fact helps with a multitude of conditions and is preventative for many physical and cognitive issues. We have seen great success with conditions like autoimmune, Parkinsons, dementia, non-union bone healing, addiction, spasticity, genetic conditions, lymphedema, chronic pain and many others. Per Fact has positive implications for many conditions.
Who can Per Fact help?
Kiddos as young as 18 months or two have been treated with Per Fact. Adults of all ages have benefits from using the Per Fact protocol. Per Fact was designed for clients whom the traditional medical system has failed. It is a very mind-body related treatment.
Is Per Fact Painful, what does it feel like?
The Per Fact protocol is never supposed to hurt. It is indeed a piston that hits the body about 300 times per minute, however, you and your therapist will decide on the settings for the machine. It feels a bit stingy in some areas. If ever things are uncomfortable you will notify the therapist who will turn the intensity down to a comfortable level.
Is Per Fact Covered by Insurance?
No Per Fact is not covered by Medicare and therefore all Per Fact treatments will be private pay.
Are there contraindications with Per Fact?
Having a pacemaker or cancerous tumor may be contraindications to Per Fact.
How Does Per Fact work?
Per Fact is performed with a radial shockwave machine. The protocols are either an hour or two. Mechanotransduction is a process by which cells transform mechanical stimuli into electrochemical processes. These processes increase blood flow, healing, decreasing edema, stimulate calming and an increase in growth factors in the brain and body.
How Often Should I do Per Fact?
We have found that 4-5 visits is usually enough to get a good baseline in. These base treatments should be performed at least 2X/ week until achieved and could be done daily until achieved. Then visits can be spaced out to weekly, bimonthly or monthly to maintain growth factors in brain and body at optimum levels.
How do I get signed up?
Our intake process involves calling or texting our office with your intention to start therapy at Unity, your name, phone and an email address. Then we send an intake form and get you scheduled.
